Frequently Asked Questions about Peter Flowers Photography

Welcome to my FAQ section, below are a number of questions, in no particular order that I get asked from time to time.

How do I book you?

Drop me an email, or give me a call on 07510 659954 to check on my availability, I shoot mostly weekends, but I do make time for midweek weddings given plenty of notice. If your date is available, I can come out and meet you for an informal chat and a coffee. Due to the number of advertising agencies that call my number, it is often better to contact me via email to begin with,

If you find me suitable then I can take a £250 non-refundable reservation fee on the day to secure your date in the diary. The remaining balance is due 28 days before your big day.

Do I have to sign anything?

Yes, you must sign your life away! Just joking, its a simple wedding contract, detailing times and locations of your day as well as some industry standard terms and conditions which I am happy to talk you through if needed.

How do I pay?

Cash is good, but I would prefer a cheque or a bank transfer.

Can I book you for just a few hours?

Good question! Yes, you can, but I do not offer this on weekends, this includes Fridays. Contact me with your details and I can work out a price to suit your requirements.

What if the wedding day runs late, will you stay?

Of course, I’m there until the job is done.

Do you travel? If so, how far?

I’m more than happy to travel, but I might include a small charge should you be more than 50 miles away from my postcode (OX26 2NJ). But no wedding is too far!

How long until I get my photos?

I aim to process your photos and deliver them to you within a maximum of 2 months of your wedding. If we have discussed an album then it may take a little longer as they do take a while to design and print.

How many photos will I actually receive?

I aim to deliver approximately 300+ pictures of your day in both black and white and colour. Please ensure you read my terms and conditions on the back of your booking form for more details on this.

Can I have all the pictures you took from the day, even the bad ones?

Bad ones? What bad ones!?  This will not be possible. I will hand pick all the best photographs that reflect your day and edit them accordingly, part of my work flow involves deleting shots that don’t reach my standards, after all, who wants to put poor pictures in the public domain?

Can I share your photos with friends?

Yes! You have full non-commercial image rights to do whatever you like with them, so feel free to do as you wish.

Can I send other suppliers pictures from the day?

No, non-commercial image rights do not allow you to do this. If a supplier wants a picture of their product, i.e. a shot of the cake for the cake maker, this is something they must come to me for.

Do my images have a watermark?

Only the low resolution images for social media are watermarked. Its nice to have a little bit of recognition for your work, don’t you think? 🙂

Do you shoot alone or use an assistant?

This depends on how creative you want to get with your photography. Generally, I shoot alone allowing me to blend in and to be as subtle as possible. However, there are occasions where you may want the groom prep covered as well as the bridal prep. Since I cannot be in two places at once, I offer you the choice of booking a second photographer for an additional fee. They will generally assist and shoot with me during the day.

What will you wear to our wedding?

I will dress appropriately with the aim of blending in with your guests. Normally trousers, shirt and tie suffice but I have been known to don a tidy waistcoat.

Will you need feeding?

Not at all, I understand weddings are expensive events so I’m happy to bring my own food. It is often the case that the catering staff will include a meal anyway, but we can discuss this when we meet.

What equipment do you use?

I use Nikon gear, my main camera being a D800 with a full complement of professional lenses with backup cameras should I ever need them. No church is too dark…at least not so far! I also have a portable lighting system and flashguns if needed. I do tend to make the most of natural light on your day, so they may only make a brief appearance, unless you want a little creativity in your pictures.

What if you are ill?

I’m very rarely ill and I’ve not missed an event yet, but should the worst happen and I can’t make it, I will arrange cover for myself via a trusted group of photographers.

Are you insured?

All of my camera kit is insured, I also have professional indemnity insurance and public liability insurance. Copies of certificates are available upon request.

Can I change the Terms and Conditions?

My t’s & c’s are in place to protect both my clients and myself. I am happy to discuss anything you do not understand or are not willing to agree too.

Can I pay you after I have my photographs?

Sorry, but as with most suppliers, payment is required up front and in full, 28 days prior to your wedding date.

Have I missed anything?
